The ESO INDIA FOUNDATION instituted the BHARAT GAURAV SAMMAN AWARD and the Lifetime Achievement Awards in the year 2011 with a view of giving recognition and motivation to the unsung heroes across the country who are working hard for the betterment of the lives of the underprivileged. With the vision to give these leaders the appreciation they deserve and set them as impeccable examples for the world to seek inspiration and hence, the idea of Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards was en-seeded. The first ever award ceremony for the prestigious Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards was held in the heart of INDIA , at MANAS BHAWAN JABALPUR, M.P.
With an array of sterling guests, leaders from across the nation and continent, representing 21 states and 2 countries made it to the award night. Unsurprisingly, the award ceremony made it to the headlines across media houses in India. That was the day when we decided to march forward with much more passion and gusto.
The second award ceremony in the year 2012, with the growing esteem and prestige associated with the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards, the foundation every year a small group of rigorously selected leaders who are politicians, business heads, celebrities or, social leaders, who deserved to be recognised has been awarded with the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards. During the 2011 award ceremony, Our General Secretary, Dr. Sandesh Yadav, took an oath on behalf of the foundation to ensure the deserved respect for the awardees and announced that thereafter, only a recipient of this award will be eligible to join the Executive Team of the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Committee.
Today, the Committee’s President is a recipient of the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards while the Chairman received Lifetime Achievement Award and all the other members have been honoured in some year or the other. Today many of our alumni awardees have been recognised by state sponsored Padma awards. With moving time, more and more people are joining hands with us and making the mission of the foundation stronger.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION
It is the standard procedure to invite recommendations every year from all State / UT. Recommendations received from them and also from other sources like Member of Parliament, District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, as also individual bodies etc., are placed before the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Committee. The Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Committee is constituted by the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Foundation every year. The members of the Committee are all eminent personalities of impeccable character and integrity. Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Committee decides the awardees based upon the application and by also conducting its own external vetting, research and recommendations.
While no rigid criteria or trenchant formula for selection is applied by the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Committee, it looks the life time achievement of an individual while making a selection. There ought to be an element of public service in the achievements of the person to be selected. The award is given for ‘special services’ and not merely for long service. It should not be merely excellence in a particular field, but the criteria has to be “excellence plus”. Persons selected for the awards are subjected to verification by the researching group of Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Foundation with a view to ensuring that their character and antecedents are above board. The Bharat Gaurav Samman Awardss are conferred on the recommendations made by the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Committee, which are submitted to the Chairman for approval.

Setting a legacy at the epitome of prestige requires dedicated, detailed and at par contributing efforts on all fronts. To set, standardise and regulate the functioning of Bharat Gaurav Samman Awards Foundation, Bharat Gaurav Standard Control Council was set up.
In August 2021, the ESO INDIA penned the ‘Bharat Gaurav First Charter of Recognitions and Awards’ that sets the event objectives, criteria and categories for the Bharat Gaurav Samman Awardss. It also sets the standards for event management, protocols for dignitary handling, stage etiquettes and many other associated elements to ensure the prestige and aura associated with the recognition.
